School Executive Leadership Program (SELP USA)

This program is facilitated by the International Development Institute (IDI). The program is being conducted in the USA from April 21st to 25th, 2025. The International Development Institute, is a Washington, DC-based learning institute specializing in capacity-building, global development, and institutional strengthening through training, workshops, & study tours.

Why We Do It:
Education is constantly evolving to keep pace with technological advancements. To build a people-centered and inclusive education system, school leaders must be equipped with the latest strategies in leadership, innovation, and pedagogy. SELP USA is designed to bridge international education best practices with the unique needs of diverse school systems worldwide.

Program Aim and Objectives:
SELP USA aims to enhance the leadership capacity of school administrators, principals, and policymakers by providing hands-on exposure to the U.S. education system. The program focuses on critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative school management techniques to improve student outcomes and institutional effectiveness.

Participants Will Learn:

Leadership and Strategic Management: Techniques to lead and manage schools effectively, motivate teachers and students, and create a vision for the future of education.

Innovative Teaching and Learning: Exposure to U.S. best practices in curriculum development, pedagogical innovations, and the integration of technology and AI in classrooms.

Hands-on Exposure: Visits to U.S. schools, universities, vocational centers, and community colleges to observe real-time teaching and administrative processes.

Evidence-Based Decision Making: Frameworks and tools to make strategic decisions based on research and data.

Education System Insights: Understanding the policies, practices, and methodologies that contribute to the success of the U.S. education system.

Networking and Collaboration: Opportunities to interact with educators, administrators, and policymakers to foster long-term partnerships and knowledge exchange.

Program Structure:

Module 1: Pre-Training Assessment (Virtual session and survey)

Module 2: Orientation on U.S. education fundamentals (Virtual session)

Module 3:

Workshops & School Visits: Covering leadership strategies, curriculum innovations, motivation techniques, and AI in education.

Exposure to U.S. Schools & Institutions: Visits to high schools, vocational schools, community colleges, and universities.

Cultural and Educational Exploration: A tour of Washington, DC, including key historical and educational landmarks.
