What is International Development Institute?
International Development Institute (IDI) is a leading organization in the development sector that is dedicated to creating innovative solutions for the most salient challenges in our target sectors–education, economy, tourism, governance, and health–by providing cutting-edge capacity building training, research & assessment, consulting, institutional partnership, and grant & project management services. Established in 2005 in Virginia, USA, IDI has a strong presence across three continents, with branch offices in Nepal and Nigeria. We work closely with governments, the public and private sectors, community-based organizations, government agencies, and target communities to identify challenges they face, define their priorities in addressing these issues, and implement innovative development approaches that emphasize long-term resilience and sustainability. Within our four focus areas, we are dedicated to working at the intersection of several cross-cutting themes, including climate change, inclusion, and governance. IDI aims to bring together global expertise and local knowledge to create synergetic development solutions. We implement these through capacity building training, research & assessment, consulting, institutional partnership, and grant & project management services. Throughout each aspect of our work, we are committed to empowering local communities with the skills and tools necessary to maintain the benefits of the implemented programs in the long term.
