International Development Institute (lDl) is conducting a series of 10 virtual classes on the World Bank’s Procurement Policies and Procedures in collaboration and consultation with Public Sector Procurement (PSP) experts from September 27-October 8, 2021.

Considering a very high number of applicants, IDI may decide to hold 2 different cohort’s and participants have a choice to pick one of the dates. Please enroll before all seats are reserved.

Course Advisors

Mr. Simeon Sahaydachny (USA) has over 30 years of experience as an international consultant to governments, international organizations and development institutions (World Bank, African Development Bank, ADB, USAlD, MCC, CARlCOM, COMESA) on public procurement, e-commerce, mobile money, concessions, public-private partnerships, and others areas of commercial law and dispute resolution.

He was formerly a Senior Officer at the Secretariat of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNClTRAL), where he served as secretary of various inter-governmental committees of UN General Assembly and authored and contributed to working drafts of model laws (mainly government procurement, cross-border insolvency and e- commerce), international conventions and legal guides relating to international commercial transactions adopted by UNClTRAL and recommended by the UN General Assembly.

Mr. Sahaydachny was instrumental in transforming the public procurement systems in numerous countries. He has worked on public procurement reforms in over 30 countries including China, Georgia, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Mr. Sahaydachny received his J.D. in 1979 and his L.L.M- International Law from New York University in 1986.

Mr. Ovidiu SLIMAC (Romania) has over 18 years of experience in procurement. He is familiar with Romanian national legislation, European Directives in Procurement, and World Bank procedures. He is an engineer, specialist, public procurement expert, nationally and internationally accredited, trainer (of trainers), social responsibility manager. He was a lecturer at the Contract Management (FIDIC types) Seminar in the discipline ”Preparation of documentation, particularities and practical aspects in the field of public procurement.” He was one of the Keynote Speakers at Western Balkan Circular and Climate Innovation Beacons ”CE Beacons” event, held on-line on 14th October 2020, with the title: ”The European Green Deal – Implications and impacts on public procurement.”

Mr. Slimac contributed to a number of blogs and is a faculty of public procurement.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • lDl will refund 50% of deposits amount if cancellation requests submitted not less than 7 days prior to the scheduled course date.
  • There will be no refund for any cancellation requests submitted less than 7 days prior to the scheduled course date.
  • There will be no refund for no-shows.
  • All cancellations must be made in writing.
