School Education Leadership Program (SELP) Series

e-Learning Workshop by IDI & SECG

School Education Leadership Program

A ‘new normal’ in education will have to be imagined taking into account three key shifts:

(a) changes in the educational experience of children,

(b) changes in the roles and responsibilities of teachers, head teachers, and parents as they accommodate with the new reality of ‘social distancing’ and

(c) changes in the educational inputs/ learning environments, learning assessments and capacity and resources to implement the new required changes among policy makers and implementers.

How is the loss of school- based learning due to school closures to be made up? How do we prepare students, teachers, leaders for a technology-driven pedagogy? How can teacher capacity to teach effectively in this new environment be best enhanced? How can leaders develop strategies and competencies to lead and support students, teachers and parents, and mobilize new resources in support of education?

This School Executives Leadership Program (SELP) will strengthen your capacity to better understand the new reality, revisit your plans, and set appropriate vision and goals for your institutions. The program is designed to include both policy makers and principals so that the exchanges between these two critical groups will not only engender greater learning of the challenges but also help generate ideas for new education policies and programs that are forward looking. The SELP will:

  • help leaders envision, develop and implement measures to enhance teacher capacity to cope with new ways of providing and managing learning,
  • help build within schools and between schools a new spirit of sharing and collaboration to enhance system-wide capacity, and
  • build new and supportive alliances among policy makers, principals, and generate ideas for creating networks with parents, businesses and social organizations to enhance school level resources.

Attending SELP will empower you and help you excel as a policy maker and school leader.
